Mary V. Lapicola
FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Mary V. Lapicola, of Fort Pierce, FL, formerly of Springfield, IL, died March 20, 2009, at Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, FL.
She was born on February 28, 1917, in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Alfredo and Mary Prinzavalli Marinella. She married John J. Lapicola and he preceded her in death. Also, preceding her in death was a sister, Victoria Rath.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Jo Stoker of Reno, NV; a son, John (wife; Shirley) Lapicola of Dallas; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Joseph Lapicola of Springfield, IL.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Elks Club of Fort Pierce and the American Legion. She lived in Springfield, IL, most of her life and was a former member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Church of the Little Flower. She worked at Sangamo Electric and later retired from the State of Illinois Department of Corrections. She was a loving mother and wife.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at St. Agnes Church, with Reverend Robert Jallas officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
