SPRINGFIELD – Mary V. De Verger, 87, of Springfield, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Capital Care Center.

She was born February 6, 1920 in Anniston, MO, the daughter of Franklen A. and Annie Lee Stephenson Kidd. She married Edward Eldon De Verger on September 8, 1940; he preceded her in death on April 7, 1995. Her parents and two sisters, Nadine Brock and Roberta Warren, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. De Verger was a technician for the Illinois Secretary of State Drivers Services for 22 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Western Oaks Baptist Church.

Survivors: one daughter, Carla (husband, Francis “Hank”) Johnson of Springfield; two grandsons, Gregory W. Johnson and Edward A. Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Kala, Kyle, Sean, and Zachary Johnson; two sisters, Juanita Ogborn of Nashville, TN and Doris Carpenter of Belton, MO; one brother, Franklen Kidd of Germany; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or VNA Hospice Care of Illinois.

Visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 17, 2007. Services: 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 18, 2007, Reverend Jeff Blevins officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
