Mary Theresa Bachmann

Mary Theresa Bachmann, 87, of Springfield passed away at 11:55 am on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Oak Terrace in Springfield, Illinois. She was born in Springfield on January 22, 1926 to Wenzel and Frances Koska Fomera. She married Virgil H. Bachmann on September 11, 1949 and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Warren Bachmann and one sister, Erma Waddell.

Surviving are four daughters, Charlene (Melvin, deceased) Woodruff of Springfield, Vickie (Kenneth) Morse of Petersburg, Connie (Curtis) Smith and Jill (Robert) Lewis both of Springfield, daughter-in-law Susan Bachmann of Sherman, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one sister, Frances Tipps of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She retired from Horace Mann Insurance where she worked for 25 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and enjoyed crocheting and doing crafts.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 pm Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.

Lie in State: 9:30-10:30 am Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Funeral Service: 10:30 am Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2nd and Monroe, with Reverend Paul Hemenway officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
