Mary Sauers Ely

Mary Sauers Ely, 77 of Springfield, died at 8:55 am, Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Mary, a resident of Springfield most of her life, was born November 26, 1933, in rural Dawson, the daughter of Francis J. and Helen Hansen Sauers. She married Edward A. Ely November 22, 1953.
Survivors include her husband, Edward A. Ely; daughter, Patricia A. Papp of Springfield; son, Mark A. Ely of Olathe, KS; grandson, David P. Papp; three sisters; Freda V. Follis, of Chadwick, MO, June S. Baker of Springfield, and Kathryn E. Bottrell of Decatur and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Donna Sue Ely and a sister, Marjorie McDaniel.
She was a homemaker and attended Southern View Chapel where she volunteered in the nursery.
Visitation: 3-5:30 pm, Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Lie-in-State: 10:30 – 11 am, Monday, August 15, 2011 at Southern View Chapel
Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Monday, August 15, 2011 at Southern View Chapel with Pastor Gary E. Gilley officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
