Mary Kathryn Wilder
SPRINGFIELD – Mary Kathryn (Burgess) Wilder, 84, of Springfield died at 8:27 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff, Neb.
She was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Springfield, the daughter of Harry E. and Josie Williams Burgess. She married Cecil H. Wilder on June 30, 1943; he preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1986. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a son, David Wilder Sr.; three brothers, Harry E. Burgess Jr. and Eugene and Donald Burgess; and two granddaughters, Kathryn Joann Wilder and Linzy Rose Wilder.
Mrs. Wilder, a lifelong resident of Springfield, worked at SA Barker and Co., Hummer Manufacturing Co. and New Hampshire/AIG Insurance Co.
She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and Women’s Club of Springfield.
Surviving are a daughter, Connie (husband, Howard) Detweiler of Minatare, Neb.; a son, Allen M. (wife, Valerie) Wilder of Scottsbluff, Neb.; six grandchildren, David Wilder Jr. and Brian Wilder, both of Springfield, Jason (wife, Dee) Wilder of Riverton, Kristy (husband, Jeff) Pate of Minatare, Neb., and Wendy Wilder and Brittney (husband, James), both of Scottsbluff, Neb.; stepgrandchildren, Shanna of Boise, Idaho, and Brian (wife, Jessie) Craay; 13 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ilene Burris of Decatur; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
