Mary Jane Semanik

Mary Jane Semanik, 89, of Springfield, died at 9:25 a.m., Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mary Jane was born on August 7, 1922 in Mt. Pulaski to Ferdinand and Mary “Maddy” Turner Blanford. She married Joseph E. Semanik on April 15, 1950 and he preceded her in death on July 18, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert, Vernon and Wayne Blanford and one son Michael Semanik.
She is survived by one daughter, Pamela Semanik of Oak Park, IL; one son, Joseph (Janet) Semanik of Springfield; two grandchildren, Robert and Hai Chang Semanik and one great-grandson, Billy Semanik.
Mary Jane graduated from Business College and Cosmetology School. She was employed by Horace Mann Insurance Company for 21 years. She was “Employee of the Year- 1979”.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at St. Aloysius Church with Rev. Tom Donovan officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
