Mary Catherine Hanauer Calandrino
Mary Catherine Hanauer Calandrino, 86, of Springfield, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. John’s Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 18, 1926 in Taylorville, IL, to the late Edward and Lora Speagle Hanauer. She married Sam Calandrino on February 2, 1945 and he survives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. She especially loved spending time with her best friend of 73 wonderful years, Sam. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Little Flower Church. She was an avid Chicago Cub Fan.
Survivors include her husband, Sam, Seven Children, Patricia Dippel, Michael Calandrino (Deceased), Joseph (Deena) Calandrino, Vicki (John) Reazer-Kremitzki, Cathy Christison, Pamela Thompson and Gina (Michael) Dickerson all of Springfield; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one brother Lyle Hanauer and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation: 5-7 pm Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 am Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Monsignor John Ossola officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
