Mary Baker passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 21, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on a hard scrabble farm outside of Cookeville, Tennessee to Alice Pritchard Bohannon and Jeff Bohannon. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Aubrey Bohannon and is survived by her sister, Doris Stamps of Chatham, Illinois. Also preceding her in death are her husband Robert Baker and her son, Bobby, both of Beavercreek, Ohio. Several nieces and nephews survive, including Anita Stamps Boyenga who, along with her husband, Kirk, were at her side when she passed.
Sorely missed will be Mary’s stories of travels around the world, including her time spent in England as a young single woman helping with the post-war recovery in the 1940’s. Also missed will be her stories of working with former Nazi generals and scientist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as part of a secret program to obtain information about German aircraft and missiles.
A graveside memorial service will occur in Beavercreek, Ohio later this summer.
