Marvin L. Peel
SPRINGFIELD – Marvin L. Peel, 84, of Springfield died at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at St. John’s Hospital. He was born June 28, 1924, in Springfield, the son of Orville and Dorothy Elshoff Peel. He
married Helen Canham 60 years ago on Aug. 21, 1948.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Peel, and two brothers, Elmer and Robert Peel. He is survived by his wife, Helen Peel; a daughter-in-law, Betty Peel of Riverton; a grandson, Jeffery Peel of Riverton; brother, Richard Rick (wife, Delores) Peel of Riverton;
sister-in-law, Anna Jeep Peel of Havana; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was a lifelong resident of the Springfield area. He retired from Fiatallis in 1985 after 41 years.
He was a member of Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church. He enjoyed rollerskating and was a longtime skate guard at Moonlite Garden. He loved roller dancing with his wife. He was a sports fan and especially enjoyed bowling.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Julia Melgreen officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
