Marjorie “Marge” Irene Krueger, 88, of Springfield, joined her beloved husband, Bernard on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Marjorie was born December 19, 1922 in Norfolk, VA to Jake Nelson and Ora Poe Jones Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother , James Lee. Marjorie married Bernard “Bernie” Krueger on November 13, 1945 and he also preceded her in death on January 15, 2008.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy J. Matsko (Louis); three sons, Robert L. Krueger (Dorothy) of Lincoln, Thomas D. Krueger (Significant other: Barbara) of Colorado and Bernard W. Krueger of Springfield. She enjoyed and inspired six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was a past member of the 2nd Marine Corp. Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed wintering in the Phoenix, AZ area and liked to travel. She will be remembered for her caring and uplifting views shared with others throughout her lifetime.
Visitation: 10-11 am, Monday, September 19, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Monday, September 19, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Ridge Chapel Mausoleum.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
