Margaret R Courtney
Margaret Rose Courtney, 79, of Taylorville, died at 10:08 pm, Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born July 9, 1933 in Greenwich, England to Leonard and Marjorie Sharp Bineham.
Survivors include one daughter Cherie (companion: Andy Walden) Courtney-Price; three sons, Harry Courtney, Jr., Steven (My Hue) Courtney and Kevin Courtney; four grandchildren, David Courtney, Dallas Courtney, Helen (Branden) McBroom and Christina Courtney; one great grandson, Scotland Duke Courtney; one sister, Elaine Bassett; three brothers, Douglas (Audry) Bineham, Roy (Louise) Bineham and Leonard (Linda) Bineham and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents, one brother Edward Bineham and his wife, Marie, and one brother-in- law John Bassett preceded her in death.
Margaret and her family had endured the bombings of London during WWII. She graduated from secondary school and Auxiliary Nursing School in England.
She moved to the US in 1956 and spent the majority of her adult life in Springfield. She had spent the last 13 years in Taylorville. Margaret retired as a CNA at St. James Court. She enjoyed homemaking, embroidery, knitting, cooking and baking. She loved her English tea; as well as collecting tea pots and tea cups. Margaret was dedicated to her children and grandchildren.
Visitation: 11:30 am – 1 pm, Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 1 pm, Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Margaret Rose Courtney.

There are no adequate words to comfort in this time of loss. Just know you are thought of and prayed for. God bless you and may he keep all of your wonderful memories of your mother (Harry) forever fresh in your mind.
