Margaret Margo E. Larson
SPRINGFIELD – Margaret Margo E. Larson, 85, of Springfield died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 19, 1923, in Gillespie, the daughter of Andrew and Margaret Brown Ewenson. She married Earl LeRoy Larson Sr.; he preceded her in death March 27, 1982.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan (husband, Anton) Ley Jr. of Kincaid and Patricia Wolf of Maricopa, Ariz.; two sons, Earl L. Larson Jr. and Larry Larson, both of Springfield; four grandchildren, Lysa (husband, Bruce) Wilde, Michelle Larson, Gina Wolf and Kevin Larson; three great-grandchildren, Erik Larson, and T.J. and Matt Wilde; several nieces and nephews; and a cousin.
She was a resident of Springfield since the age of 14. She worked for the Illinois Department of Revenue as a tax analyst for more than 25 years. She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary, a past member of AMVETS Auxiliary and a devout Cardinals fan. She loved gardening and spending time with family and friends. She received her GED in 1989.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Animal Protective League.
