Margaret Lucille Gates, 92, of Springfield, died at 11:45 am, Friday, February 22, 2019 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born November 29, 1926 in Springfield to Clarence and Helena (Routt) Boggs. She married George Gates on January 17, 1959, and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1995.

She is survived by her sister, Patricia Norman of Springfield, one niece, four nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.

Margaret was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She worked as a housekeeper at St. John’s Hospital for 25 years. She loved to play BINGO.

Visitation: 10 – 11 am, Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Wednesday, February 27, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
