Margaret Ann Oakley
Margaret Ann Oakley, 81, of Springfield, died at 11:47 pm, Monday, March 13, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Home. She was born in 1936 to Fred and Mary Bleyer. She married Jack Oakley in 1973 and he survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Susan (Craig) Burns of Springfield, Laura (Jeff) Mehan of Rochester and Mary (Dan) Schick of Marathon, FL; one step-daughter, Jackie (Jim) Koonce of Carterville; four grandchildren, Jamie, Molly, Ryan and Adam; two great grandchildren, Brock and Jake and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Fred and Ed Bleyer and one sister, Bette Jones.
She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed golfing, gardening, bowling, traveling and playing tennis.
She retired in 1999 as an Academic Advisor for Lincoln Land Community College after more than twenty-five years of service.
Visitation: 4:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. An additional visitation will be held from 11:30 am – 12:00 pm, Friday, March 17, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Home Chapel.
Funeral Service: 12:00 pm, Friday, March 17, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Home Chapel with Reverend Philip Kraft officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Home, Springfield, IL.

You were such a good mentor to me and someone I will never forget. Thank you Margaret for all you were to me. My condolences to Jack, Sue, Laura, Mary and all of the rest of the family. Wish I could personally be there to offer my condolences.
