Mae Olive Henn
Mae Olive Henn, 92, of Laramie, Wyoming formerly of Springfield, died at the Laramie Care Center, Friday, March 1, 2013. She was born April 25, 1920, on a farm in Hamburg, Illinois, to Otis and Lula Blackston. Her family moved to Ellsbury, Missouri where she spent most of her childhood. The family later moved to Springfield, Illinois. During WWII she worked at an ordinance plant in Decatur. She married Leo B. Henn on April 26, 1947. They enjoyed 55 years together. She was a self-employed seamstress and also worked twenty-four years for Tuxhorn Draperies before retiring. She moved to Laramie, Wyoming in October 2011.
She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed entertaining and her flower and vegetable gardens. She was initially a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for many years.
Survivors include three sons, Leo “Tony” and his wife Ada of Saint Peters, Missouri; John and his wife Elizabeth of Laramie, Wyoming; and Mark and his wife Julie of Honolulu, Hawaii; four grandchildren, Michael and his wife Kari, Marshall and his wife Lisa, Brian, and Justin Henn; two great-granddaughters, Karsyn and Baylee Henn; one sister, Bonnie Robinson of Springfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, her parents, and two brothers.
Visitation and Celebration of Life: will be at Staab Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 5-7pm.
Funeral Liturgy: will be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 10:30 am with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating.
Interment will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
