Lula Mae Bunker
SHERMAN – Lula Mae Bunker, 82, of Sherman died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Williamsville, the daughter of Raymond and Lora Ackley Harmon. She first marred Charles Bosaw on June 17, 1944; he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1976. She married Charles Bunker on Aug. 12, 1977; he also preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, William Harmon.
Mrs. Bunker was a resident of Springfield for most of her life. She was owner of White Cottage Cafe in Raymond and also worked for Lloyd’s Cleaners and Gerber’s Cleaners in Springfield.
She was a member of AMVETS Auxiliary where she was past president. She loved bowling and was active in many leagues through the years and was an avid fisher.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane (husband, John) Lael of Sherman and Jean (husband, Gary) Sheppard of Berlin; seven grandchildren, Tawnya (husband, James) McCann, Angie (husband, John) Price, Bobbie (husband, Ricky) Moore, Kim Lael (companion, Travis Hudspeth), Gary (fiance, Jennifer) Sheppard, Dawn (husband, Clark) Bergschneider and Charles (wife, Carla) Sheppard; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Loretta (husband, Delbert) Snyder of Bath; two brothers, Jack (wife, Donna) Harmon of Hickory, N.C., and James (wife, Jonelle) Harmon of Henderson, Ky.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Mark Estrop. Private burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorials to The Christian Village Memory Care Unit in Lincoln where she was a resident for the past year.
