SPRINGFIELD – Louise Natale, 80, of Springfield died at 1:07 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Home.
She was born Jan. 26, 1928, in Hunter, Okla., the daughter of James and Mabel Grantz Peck. She married Al Natale on April 26, 1947; he preceded her in death on April 7, 2004.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and two sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Moroney of Chatham and Anna (husband, Robert) McLaughlin of Birmingham, Ala.; three sons, Jim (wife, Wanda) Natale of Pelham, Ala., Joe (wife, Patty) Natale and John Natale, both of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nellie (husband, A.C.) Pratt of Blackwell, Okla., and Ann (husband, Sam) Jones of Duncan, Okla.; a brother, Ivan (wife, Rita) Peck of Hunter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Louise was a resident of Springfield for the past 62 years. She worked at Franklin Life as a PBX operator, Illinois Bell Telephone Co. as a long-distance operator and at Maverick Steak House, where she was luncheon cashier for nine years, retiring in 1988. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of St. Agnes Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters of America; Court Madonna 148; Samaritan at St. John’s Hospital, where she was also a Eucharistic minister; Wertz’s Home Prayer group; Toast Mistress; St. Francis Light of Love Community; and Lincoln West neighborhood association. She was a seamstress and did arts and crafts through Home Extension. She was a graduate of Hunter High School in Hunter.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, with a prayer service held prior at 4:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at St. Agnes Church, with the Rev. Robert Jallas officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
