Louise L. Rawlings
SPRINGFIELD – Louise L. Rawlings, 83, of Springfield died at 8:03 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at Villa Healthcare East in Sherman.
She was born April 24, 1926, in Sparta, the daughter of Willis H. and Opal A. Smith Hood, and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Marshall McMichael. She married Robert A. Rawlings on July 25, 1947; he preceded her in death on October 23, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Marshall McMichael; and sister, Mary Nickelson.
She is survived by a daughter, Blinda Rawlings of Springfield; two sons, Michael Allen and Randie Rawlings, both of Springfield; four grandchildren, Rob Lindsey, Lori Lindsey-Smith, Andrew, and Rachel Rawlings; three great-grandchildren, Lauren Lindsey and Sophia and Xander Smith; a half sister, Beverly Leonard of Terre Haute, Ind.; two half brothers, Willis and Allen Hood, both of Terre Haute, Ind.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Louise lived in Springfield for most of her life.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church.
Louise loved to bowl and play bingo and bunco. She was an avid Cubs fan and was an excellent seamstress. She also loved to camp and crochet.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Brindley. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
