Louis Falzone, Jr.
Louis Falzone, Jr., 84, of Springfield died at 6:16 am Thursday, August 28, 2014 at his home. He was born February 2, 1930 in Louisville, KY to Louis and Virginia Burris Falzone, Sr. He married Mary McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Falzone.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Mary of Springfield; three children, Virginia Ray of Florida, Val Falzone and Louis Falzone III both of Springfield; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Sam and Bob Falzone of Springfield and John Falzone of Greenview; several nieces, nephews and cousins and two beloved pets, Scarlett and Rhett.
Louis was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was employed as a welder at Fiat Allis for 38 years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #2910 and was a vendor at the Illinois State Fair for 34 years and was with the Illinois Valley Rides and Wilson Family Shows for 22 years.
Visitation: 4:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Christopher House officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
