SPRINGFIELD, IL- Lorraine Fleck, 94, of Springfield passed away at 11:15 am, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Home. She was born August 7, 1922 to Frank J. and Anastasia (Müller) Fleck, Sr.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Marguerite Schmidt, Bertha Lederle, Clara Dolence, Bernadine Haley, Dorothy McCarty and Audrey Knight; and one brother, Frank “Bud” Fleck, Jr.
Lorraine grew up helping to operate the family business, Fleck’s Motel. She was also an entrepreneur, designing and selling walking Lincoln statues, and selling manufactured homes. She later worked at the Circuit Clerk’s office and Sam’s Club.
She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
She enjoyed painting, traveling, photography and writing. She was formerly a member of the Red Hat Society and involved in historical re-enactment at Lincoln’s Tomb.
Visitation: 9-10 am, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Church of the Little Flower.
Funeral Mass: 10 am, Saturday, November, 19, 2016 at Church of the Little Flower. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
