Lester "Les" B. Sullivan
Lester “Les” B. Sullivan, 74, of Springfield, died at 1:37 am, Sunday, August 4, 2013 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born March 21, 1939 in Celina, TN, to Lester L. and Lela Carmack Sullivan. He married Brenda Murrell on April 8, 1960 and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Renee Sullivan of Springfield; two sons, Lester “Bud” (wife Nicole) Sullivan of Arenzville and James “Jayme” (Spouse Rob Stull) Sullivan of Springfield; one loving grandson, Samuel E. Sullivan; one sister, Linda Carron of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents and one sister, Mary E. Eads preceded him in death.
Lester was a member of Bissell United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in the National Guard and Army Reserves. He was owner and operator of Sullivan Trucking and was an over the road truck driver for over 35 years.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Joyner officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, where Sangamon County Interveterans will conduct military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bissell United Methodist Church.
