Larry L Smith

Larry L. Smith Sr., 70, of Springfield passed away at 4:14 am, Friday, November 8, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Larry was born on February 5, 1943 in Springfield to Lee and Dorothy Ewing Smith. He married Marjorie “Marje” Jones on November 7, 1989, and she survives. Also surviving are his four daughters, Margaret (Keith) Mefford of Divernon, Dorothy (Don) Boblitt of Auburn, Barbara (Robert) LaPenna of Havertown, Pennsylvania, and April Truter of Springfield; two sons, Brian Truter and Doug (Erin) Truter of Springfield; one sister, Nancy (John) Hall of Springfield, 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two children, Jimmy and Larry L. Smith, Jr., his mother and father and several sisters and brothers.

Larry was a life-long resident of Springfield. He was a Chef by trade and firework vendor, and former owner of several local businesses.

Visitation: 10-12 pm, Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 12 pm, Tuesday at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Springfield.
