Lance A Demere
Lance A. Demere, 63, of Hillsboro, formerly of Springfield and Kankakee, died at 2:56 a.m. on Friday, May 02, 2014 at Hillsboro Rehab and Health Care Center.
He was born on June 25, 1950 in Kankakee, IL to Wilfred and Rita Gustavson Demere.
Lance is survived by three brothers, Neil (Sara) Kruse of Plano, TX, Leon L. Demere of Port Charlotte, FL and Jeff (Judy) Demere of Mission Viejo, CA; two nephews, Justin and Jordan and his close friend, Sonya Reuben and her family of Springfield.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Janet and Susan.
Lance lived the first 54 years of his life in the Kankakee area working for various Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises. He was then the owner of Better’s Fried Chicken in the Kankakee and Bourbonnais areas for 10 years. He has resided in Springfield area for the past 10 years and was the manager of Ryan’s Buffet Restaurant for over eight years. After suffering a massive stroke in January of 2013, Lance has lived at Hillsboro Rehab and Health Care Center since March of 2013.
Visitation: 2:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice.
