Kenneth Leroy Ushman
Kenneth Leroy Ushman, 74, of Springfield, died 2:27 pm, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at his cabin. He was born October 9, 1942 in Lawrence, MI, to Anthony Joseph, Sr. and Doris M. Stainbrook Ushman. He married Martha Lazzeri on September 9, 1969 and she survives him.
Other survivors include two children, Anthony (Amy), and Angela (Charlie); five grandchildren, Tyler, Kaylie, Kendra, Ronnie, and Coleton; one great grandson, Joshua; two sisters, Mary (Donald), and Carol (Bob); three brothers, Don (Carol), Roger (Judy), and Robbie (Janet), all of Springfield, IL. And several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and three brothers, Tony Jr. Mike, and David.
Kenneth was a resident of Springfield most of his life. He was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He retired in 2002 from IDOT and worked for highway maintenance. He was a former owner of the Crawdad Hole Tavern and owner of Courier Golf Cars.
Kenneth was very active in several veterans’ organizations. He was always working on his dream home on the Sangamon River. And his new found hobby was Facebook.
Graveside Service: 11am Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
