Kenneth E. Fickas
Kenneth E. Fickas, 76, of Springfield, died at 6:13 pm, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born May 31, 1938 in Springfield to Joseph L. and Edna Sokolis Fickas, Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Jo Nation of Mechanicsburg, Yvonne Davies of Springfield and Kayla Nipper of Georgia; three sons, David and Jeffrey Fickas both of Springfield and Randy (Nancy) Janet of Mechanicsburg; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Conway of Orlando, FL and Betty (Kenneth) White of Austin, TX; five brothers, John Fickas, Bernie Schuerman and Joseph (Winnie) Fickas, Jr. all of Springfield; Bobby (Carla) Schuerman of Selma, AL and Raymond (Eva) Fickas of Girard and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Phillip Fickas; two sisters, Sharon Crim and Donna Melton and two grandchildren, Shawn and Wyatt Nation.
Kenneth was an iron worker and worked for Ironworkers Local #46 for forty nine years. He owned Kenny’s Walleye & Catfish House in West Plains, MO for ten years.
He enjoyed racing, especially the World of Outlaws & NASCAR.
Visitation: 10-11 am, Monday, August 18, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Monday, August 18, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Carver officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
