Keith R. Bollinger
Keith R. Bollinger, 88, of Springfield, IL died at St. John’s Hospice at 11:00 a.m, Thursday, July 05, 2012. He was born on March 31, 1924 in Stonington, IL to George and Nona Pyle Bollinger. He married Clara Hinds on December 2, 1947 and she preceded him in death on May 6, 2009. He is also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ray Bollinger and one sister, Bernice Gesell.
Keith is survived by one daughter, Lynda (Jerome) Brownlee of Prairie Village, KS; two grandchildren, Carissa Brownlee and J.J. Brownlee both of Prairie Village, KS; one sister, Erma Gesell of Kincaid, IL and one brother, George (Onita) Bollinger of Versailles, KY.
Keith was a resident of Springfield, IL since 1947. He worked for Pillsbury Mills as a forklift driver and material handler and retired after 36 years of service. He was in the U.S. Army Field Artillery division during WWII. Keith was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He formally enjoyed hunting and golfing.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Sunday July 8, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Lie in State: 9-10 a.m. Monday July 9, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Darrell Debowey officiating. Burial will follow at Salisbury Cemetery.
