Kay E. Bell
Kay E. Bell, 63, of Springfield died at 8:45 am Thursday, August 15, 2013 at her home. She was born June 16, 1950 in Springfield to Jack K. and Dorothy M. McCue Rubley. She married Kenneth N. Rice on September 6, 1969 and he preceded her in death August 12, 2002. Also preceding her in death were her parents and mother-in-law, Margie Rice, as well as an uncle, Bill McCue and aunt, Joyce Lambert. She married William Bell, Jr. on December 3, 2004.
Surviving are her husband, William; a daughter, Kirsten (Brian) Collison of Wake Forest, NC; stepchildren, Bill Bell III (Joy Syrcle) of Webster Groves, MO, Tim Bell of Springfield, Carrie (Jared) Gerding of Springfield and Courtney Bell of Springfield; four grand-children, Zackary, Adam, Leah Kay and Caiden; her father and mother-in-law, “Papa” and “Mama” Bell of Springfield; two sisters-in-law, Karen (Thomas) Conway of Springfield and Susie Bell of Springfield; one uncle, L. Eugene Rubley of Springfield, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kay was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, proud grandmother, loving daugh-ter, caring niece, fun sister, precious friend, compass-sionate nurse, excellent crafter, and cat lover. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Dr. Richard Suhs at Capitol Healthcare for many years.
Memorial Gathering: 10:00 – 11:00 am, Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.

I am so sorry for your loss. Kay was one of the most lovable and knowledgeable nurses that my husband, Dave, and I ever had. She and Dave would often discuss his deer hunting trips. We sure missed her when she left Dr. Suh. You have my deepest sympathy.
