Kathleen J. Martin

Kathleen J. Martin, 87, of Springfield, died at 9:40 pm, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard. She was born March 11, 1930 in Springfield, to Russell and Lorine Kliesner Kane. She married William Martin in 1950 and he preceded her in death in June of 1991.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister Maxine Comer; her brothers, Jack and Jim Kane and her “outlaws” Jenny & Mary Kane and Herb Hertenstein.

She is survived by her sons, Mike, Bob (Beth), Tom (Linda), Joe (Shelly) and Ed Martin; her sister Florence Hertenstein; brother George Kane; “outlaw” Jane Kane; brother-in-law, Dick Martin; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and dozens of loving nieces and nephews and extended family members.

She was a member of St. Aloysius Church and loved driving, music, dancing, slot machines, making wonderful afghans and chilli and most of all spending time with her family.

Visitation: 11:30 am – 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home –Springfield, with Reverend Clinton Honkomp, O.P. officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
