Judith Kay Kohlrus
Judith Kay Kohlrus, 73, of Springfield, died at 4:45 pm, Monday, February 1, 2016, at her home. She was born December 6, 1942 in Springfield, to James and Erma Higgins Fortner. She has been married to Sharon Keene for fifteen years and Sharon survives.
Also surviving are four children, Joseph (Kristin) Kohlrus, Jr of Springfield, Lynn (Carlton) Goff of Richmond, VA, Matt (Sarah) Keene of Springfield and P.J. (Amy) Keene of Houston, TX; eleven grandchildren, James, Jacob & Jillian Kohlrus of Springfield, Mason and Jaden Goff of Richmond, VA, Blain, Emily and Leah Keene of Springfield and Kendall, Mikayla and Bryson Keene of Houston, TX; her special friends, Danielle Zellers, Cindy Bounds, Mary Krusz, Carol Harms, Rose Shaw and Ann Young all of Springfield and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Judith was an administrative assistant for Catholic Charities for twenty-five years, retiring in 2012.
She enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, her grandchildren, reading, nature, birds and her reading and poker clubs.
Memorial Gathering: 5-8 pm, Friday, February 5, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home, with additional visitation 9-10 am, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life: 10 am, Saturday, February 5, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home with Danielle Zellers officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Breadline or Siteman Cancer Center Foundation.
