Juanita M. Young
Juanita M. Young, 85, of Chicago, went to be with the Lord July 1, 2013. She was born June 23, 1928 to the late Roy and Lolah (Cole) Doerfler formerly of Nilwood/Girard, IL.
Nita was preceded in death by her loving husband Flavius Young in March 1998 and her beloved sister Marcella Hinckle.
She is survived by a nephew, Charles (wife Norma) HInckle of Auburn; a great nephew, Alan (wife Amanda) Hinckle of Riverton; her beloved great great niece and nephews, Kolby, Ashlyn and Quincy Hinckle and several cousins.
Born with a rare talent for being “where the action is”, Nita was an executive secretary for the Canteen Corporation in the merchandise mart, and was the first woman Co-Chairman for the 1975 International Livestock Exposition. She also worked for the McCormick Place and the State of Illinois.
Visitation: 10-11 am, Friday, July 5, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, July 5, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Sandi Woodard, CLP officiating. Burial will follow at Girard Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Animal Protective League.
