John W. "Jack" Stewart
John Wiley Stewart, 89, of Springfield, died at 1:20 pm, Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his home. He was born October 25, 1928 in Springfield, to M.B. and Eva Speaks Stewart. He married Rosemary Collebrusco and she survives.
Also surviving are two children; Jacqueline (Brian) Dillon of Naperville, and John W. (Michele) Stewart II of Springfield; four grandchildren, Kori (Phillip) Camper, Sami (Zach) Bourland, Jenna Dillon and Brian Dillon; one sister, Patricia Hobson of Ellisville, MO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Wilma Jean Hester.
Jack was a US Army Veteran during the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a lifetime member of Elk Lodge #158.
He loved bowling; traveling to Florida and socializing with friends and family.
He retired from CWLP as an Operating Engineer and also worked at Sangamo Construction.
Visitation: 10:30 – 11:30 am, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park where military honors will be conducted.
