John H. Hansen
John Harry Hansen, Jr., 80, of Springfield died on vacation in LaJolla, CA. He was born August 28, 1933 in Springfield, IL to John and Joan Hansen. He married Virginia VanWinkle September 1, 1956 and she preceded him in death December 29, 1995. Also preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Mary Hansen and a brother, George Hansen.
Mr. Hansen was a member of Calvary Temple Christian Center. He enjoyed traveling, boating and spending time with his family and friends. John retired as agency owner/operator with Allstate Insurance after 40 years. He was a United States Air Force Veteran.
Surviving are four daughters, Susan (Jon) Skoglund of Davenport, IA, Linda (Jerry) Schuchmann of Friendswood, TX, Lisa (Curtis) Hughes of Aurora and Christa (Adam) Huff of Lisle; seven grandchildren, one great grandson, and several nieces, nephews and cousins
Visitation: 10-11:30 am Monday, April 14, 2014 at Calvary Temple Christian Center.
Funeral Service: 11:30 am Monday, April 14, 2014 at Calvary Temple with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Temple’s Now Campaign or Life Church of Wheaton, IL.

I first met John and Ginny at Cherry Hills Baptist Church, and remember some of the single activities they hosted. They were both very gracious people. I left and started to attend Calvary Temple Christian Church and , they started coming later. John was in my small group. Parents to be proud of. You have my sincere sympathy, but be encouraged as you know where he is.
