John E. Sullivan
John E. Sullivan, 54, of Springfield, died at 10 am, Thursday, January 17, 2019 at his home. He was born February 2, 1964 in Springfield, to Joe E., Sr. and Ethel M. “Sis” (Smith) Sullivan.
He is survived by one sister, Kelly Sullivan of Springfield; one brother, Joe, II (Liza) Sullivan of Springfield; one aunt, Brenda Sullivan of Springfield; two nieces, Darlena McBride (Justin Smith)and Casey Sullivan; two nephews, Joe Sullivan, III and Nicholas Sullivan (Fiancé Arielle Treadwell) and great nieces, Scarlett, Savannah, Jade and Aria.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
John was an avid CUBS fan and fish fryer for every holiday. He enjoyed family time, cookouts, and playing cards.
He was a graduate of Riverton High School and was an All-State Athlete in basketball and baseball. Upon graduation, he attended Lincoln Land Community College.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Monday, January 21, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League.
