John Allen Page
John A. Page, 72, of Springfield died at 3:00 pm Monday, October 21, 2013 at his home. He was born April 4, 1941 in Springfield to Harold and Anna Strode Page, Sr. He married Shirley Jane Boone August 5, 1972 and she preceded him in death on January 16, 2006. Also preceding him in death are his parents, two grandsons, Brent Phillips and Charlie Cookson, a sister Hazel Seitz, a brother Harold Page, Jr.and a nephew Harold “HP” Page III.
Mr. Page was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He was a member of Roanoke Southern Baptist Church, life member of VFW, 23 CB Club and loved to cook and bake. He liked fishing, watching NASCAR and was a stockcar driver #17. He retired from Memorial Medical Center after 34 years of service as an engineer. He was a United States Air Force Veteran.
Survivors include two daughters, Tamara Sue Page (John Laurenzana II) and Brandy (Timothy) Phillips-Black, both of Springfield; two sons, Johnny Phillips of Springfield and Donald (Charlene) Phillips of Bloomington, IN; eleven grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation: 5 – 7 pm, Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, October 25, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Denny Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
