John A. "Jack" Willhite
John A. “Jack” Willhite, 76, of Springfield, died at 2:20 pm, Thursday, July 16, 2015 at his home. He was born November 17, 1938 in Springfield, to John and Mary Crifasi Willhite. He married Martha Akley on November 13, 1966 and she preceded him in death on October 12, 2014.
Survivors include three daughters, Lisa Ann (James D.) Potts of Rochester, Jackie (Loren) Willhite-Gross and Tami Marie Willhite both of Springfield; two sons, Michael Eugene (Companion: Brenda Rodgers) Willhite of Springfield and Donald Ray (Ella E.) Willhite of Mt Sterling, IL; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Jean Cronister of Divernon, Pat Rouse and Johanna Lomprez both of Springfield; three brothers, Denny, Frank and Tony Willhite all of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool.
He was a self-employed carpenter and owner of Willhite Roofing and Siding. He previously was a member of Carpenters Local.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one daughter, Bobbi Jo Roth; one infant daughter, Pamela Jean Willhite and one sister, Rosemary Krumweide.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Monday, July 20, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Seth Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
