Joan M. Schleyhahn

July 30, 1934 - March 12, 2016

Joan M. Schleyhahn, 81, of Edinburg, died at 4:05 am, Saturday, March 12, 2016 at home. She was born July 30, 1934 in Springfield to Robert “Bud” and Mayme West Taylor.

Survivors include three children: Diane (Tony Snow) Lauterbach, of Edinburg, Ralph (Ann) A. Schleyhahn III of Naples, FL, and Ruth (Scott) Andrews of Staunton; two grandchildren: Mikel (Stormy) Schleyhahn Andrews and Chelsea N. Andrews; sister Patricia Mayol of Springfield, brother Robert Joseph (Virginia) Taylor of Springfield; her beloved dog Winston and cat Gabby, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Susan Jane Cardoni and Roberta Pehlman, and brother-in-law Donald Mayol.

Joan retired as a Microfilm Operator with the Department of Professional Regulations. She enjoyed painting, working in the yard and gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation: 5-7 pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 1 pm, Thursday, March 17, 2016 Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Radae officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
