Joan C. Tinsley
SPRINGFIELD – Joan C. Tinsley, 64, of Springfield died at 1:40 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2008, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born Sept. 17, 1943, in Springfield, the daughter of Henry and Rose Schabl Dorr. She married Theodore Ted R. Tinsley on Nov. 22, 1969. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Henry Jr. and James Dorr.
Mrs. Tinsley, a resident of Springfield most of her life, retired from Regions Bank in 2004. She had formerly worked for Horace Mann.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Church and a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She enjoyed crafting, reading and working sudoku and crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her husband, Theodore Ted R. Tinsley; a daughter, Tracie (husband, Chris) Dinardo of Springfield; a son, Ted Tinsley (fiancee, Carla Taylor) of Springfield; three grandchildren, Gabrielle, Logan and Caitlyn; two sisters, Karen (husband, Richard) Jones of Franklin, Ind., and Maureen (husband, Mike) Follis of Springfield; a brother, Robert (wife, Pat) Dorr of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at St. Aloysius Church with the Rev. Donald Meehling officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
