Janet Kay Rapps, 70, of Springfield, died at 6:15 pm, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born November 24, 1944 in Springfield, to George R. and Frances Henderson Trainor. She married John Henry Rapps, Jr. on November 16, 1968 and he survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Kristen (Leandro) Navar of Schaumburg, Illinois; one son, Paul (Alisande) Rapps of Geneseo; nine grandchildren, Becca, Drew, Colby, Ali, Jake, Graciela, Lizzie, Gianna and Alex; one brother, Robert (Cindy) Trainor of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Janet enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She worked for Memorial Medical Center for forty one years in the Patient Financial Services Department.
Visitation: 4-6 pm, Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 pm.
Funeral Mass: 10 am, Monday, March 9, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
