Jane "Erica" Cody
Jane “Erica” Cody, 62, of Springfield died at 3:57 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at St. John’s Hospice. She was born October 25, 1950 in Fresno, CA to Earl and Dorothy (Klyver) Knobloch. Her mother preceded her in death. She married William J. Cody on June 25, 1975.
Erica was a resident of Springfield since 1989. She received her degree in Modern Dance in Fresno, CA. She was a choreographer for the Fresno City Ballet, Fresno City College and Visalia Dance Company. She received a Masters Degree with honors in Computer Science at UIS-Springfield and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She was also a Jewelry Artist and published articles on the use of color. Erica was the recipient of Friend of the Arts in Dance Award at Fresno City College. She was a Business Analyst at Rose International.
Surviving are her husband, William J. Cody of Springfield, IL; father and step-mother, Earl and Beverly Knobloch of Fresno, CA; two sisters, Marsha (Les) Talbert of Madera, CA and Bobbie Schorling of Fresno, CA; two brothers, Gayden (Judy) Schorling of Fresno, CA and Douglas Schorling of California and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Thomasz Srokowski, Dr. Robert Juranek, and the nurses and staff at St. John’s Hospice for their care and kindness to Erica.
Memorial Service: A memorial service will be held at Abraham Lincoln Unitarian Universalist Church at a date to be announced.
Memorial Contributions: Memorials may be given to the Springfield Art Association.

Evert time now when I look at my Garden I smile and remember Erica, she inspired me to have this beautiful garden.
