James R. Vose, 74, of Springfield IL died at 8:30 am Monday March 5, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born to John W. and Hedwig “Hedy” Krebs Vose on December 1, 1937. He married Dianne Smith on August 31, 1958.
Surviving is wife Dianne, daughter Linda (Dennis) McQuinn of Springfield, sons Steven J. (Kristi) Vose of Illioplois, Thomas R. Vose of Springfield, two sisters Marie Caswell, Irene “Midge” (Larry) George of Springfield, three brothers Bob (Virginia) Vose, Paul Vose of Springfield, Harold (Jean) Vose of Galena IL, six grandchildren Cory Rawlings, Whitney McQuinn, Jordan, Graham, Brayton and Chloe Vose, several nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, four sisters Elaine Vose, Gloria “Sug” (James) Johnstone, Martha (John) Sullivan, Marilyn (Del) Husemann, two brothers John W. (Shirley) Vose Jr, David (Theresa) Vose, Brother in law Lloyd “Bud” Caswell and sister in law Lorraine Vose.
James was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and formally served one term on the Springfield Park District Board. He attended Sacred Heart grade school and graduated from Lanphier High School in 1956. After 24 years of service, he retired from the State of Illinois Department of Insurance. James was a great fun loving person.
Visitation: 4:00-8:00 pm Wednesday March 7, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Thursday March 8, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Thomas Holinga officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials: Memorial Hospice program or American Cancer Society.
