James T. Nemecek, Jr.
James T. Nemecek, Jr., 52 of Springfield died at 6:20 a.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at his home. He was born May 25, 1962 in Springfield, the son of James T. and Mary Ann Lorber Nemecek, Sr. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his parents, James and Mary Ann Nemecek, one son, James “Jimmy” T. Nemecek of Springfield; four sisters, Jackie (Drew) Burnett, Jill (Scott) McCamant (daughter, Audrey McCamant), Jennifer (Russ) Hughes (children, Austin and Nick Friedmeyer and Ava and Alaina Hughes), Jolene (Steve) McBride (sons, Jackson and Emmett McBride and an expected son in April), all of Springfield, one brother, Jeff Nemecek of Springfield, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He graduated from Griffin High School and CAVC (Capital Area Vocational Center) where he was awarded the Golden Hammer in building trades. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, was an Eagle Scout and served as assistant Boy Scout Leader for St. Aloysius Troop 53. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. James worked as a welder/pipe fitter and in maintenance at Kincaid Power Station. He also owned and operated Nemecek Custom Builders.
A memorial mass was held on Saturday, January 24, 2015.
