James L. "Bud" Sullivan
James L. “Bud” Sullivan, 92, of Springfield, died at 5:20 am, Friday, March 10, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Home. He was born September 2, 1924 in Kincaid, IL to Robert and Anne Kerr Sullivan. He married Joann Burba in 1960 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kincaid and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Janet (Michael) Stehlin of Springfield and Cheryl (Dr. John) Koepke of Chapel Hill, NC; one son, James R. (Toni) Sullivan of Roselle, IL; six grandchildren, Andrew (Melissa) Stehlin, Dr. Courtney Stehlin, Christina Koepke, Michael Koepke, Danielle Sullivan and Jake Sullivan and two great grandchildren, Alexis and Ariel Stehlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rosemary Hopper and brother, John L. Sullivan.
James was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran serving during WWII. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He retired in 1989 from Peabody Coal Company after 45 years of service.
Memorial Gathering: 10:00-11:00 am, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Memorial Mass: 11:00 am, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee.
Memorial contributions may be made to Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.

You have my deepest sympathy on the loss of Bud. I remember when you married him and still have fond memories of you and Bud's mom working at the grade school.
