James “Jimmy” Dale Ushman, 49 of Springfield, died at 5:31 pm, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at his home. He was born June 10, 1964 in Springfield to Charles R. and Peggy Rhoads Ushman. His father preceded him in death.

Survivors include one son James Dale Ushman II of Springfield; mother Peggy Ushman of Springfield; one sister Julia (Matt) Peterson of Ashland; one brother Daniel Ushman of Ocala, FL and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jimmy was a resident of Springfield most of his life. He attended Lanphier High School but graduated from Hillsboro High School. He was employed by Ushman Communications for many years and continued his trade through the IBEW local 193 union. He had an extreme passion for sports and was an avid Bears fan and die hard Cub fan. He also served as an assistant coach for little league baseball. You could always find Jimmy at his favorite fishing hole every chance he could get. He was a loyal and true friend with a heart of gold. Jimmy will be dearly missed by all.

Visitation: 10 am -12 pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 12 pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Chiola officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Cabrini Church.
