James Frederick "Jim" "Keys" Koehler
James Frederick “Jim” “Keys” Koehler, 60, of Riverton, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born September 19, 1961, in Springfield, the son of Fred and Imogene (Patton) Koehler. He married Lori Enochs on August 7, 1982 and she survives.
He is also survived by one daughter, Alyse Koehler and one son, Alex Koehler, both of Springfield and three brothers, Tom (Pat) Koehler of New Berlin, Tim (Dee) Koehler of Colorado and Dave (Marilyn) Koehler of Springfield.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronald Koehler and one sister, Sandra Koehler.
Jim worked as the warehouse supervisor for the Secretary of State for 38 years, retiring in 2016. He was a graduate of St. Frances Cabrini Grade School and Lanphier High School.
He was an avid Cardinals baseball and sports fan. Jim enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting. He once shot a deer in the heart at 100 yards with his favorite Remington Wing master 870 shotgun with iron sights. Jim has caught fish since he was a boy, and he’s had many fish fry’s to prove it. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grand dogs.
Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Wednesday, November 3 2021, at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman, with Reverend George Nellikunnel officiating. Burial will follow at Woodwreath Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
