James "Jim" Foster
James “Jim” Foster, 83, of Springfield, died at 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born September 29, 1932 in Springfield to Thomas Silvester and Lou Oma (Sexton) Foster. He married Maxine Beard in 1952 and she preceded him in death on December 4, 2005.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, brother, Thomas Foster, Jr.; two sisters, Mary Turner and Dorothy Foster; two grandsons, Daniel LaBonte and William Krause and a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Turner.
Surviving are five daughters, Lorna (Joe) Hill of Fort Meyers, FL, Karen (Paul) Beall, Cindy Doerfler, Tammy Carstens and Penny (John) McLaughlin, all of Springfield; one son, Jimmy (Michelle) Foster of Savage, MN; fifteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Berniece Henley of Springfield and Lorene Ratliff of Ashland and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim retired as Business Manager of Carpenters Local #16 after 21 years of service. He was a member of Carpenters Local #16 for over 50 years; chairman of the Union Pension Fund for many years and a member of the State Council of Carpenters. He was a Trustee for the Village of Southern View and was a crossing guard for Southern View School. Jim served on many state wide committees and local committees for the union. He was a member of Clementine Memorial Church.
Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Children’s Miracle Network or Clementine Memorial Church.

Girls and Jimmy your dad always had a very special place in my heart beginning from our very special childhood days on Aarup to now. When ever I would make it back to Springfield I always made sure I stopped by to see Jim. All those memories will always be with me.
