James "Jay" John Farlese
James “Jay” Farlese, 66, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015. He was born June 8, 1948 in Bronx, NY to Joseph John and Marie Rose (Orefice) Farlese.
He is survived by his father, Joseph John Farlese of Yonkers, NY; two daughters, Anne Farlese of Springfield, Trisha (Kyle) Ulivi of Coal City, IL; one son, Joseph James Farlese of Odenton, MD; four grandchildren, Ariana Farlese, Drake Eaton, Danika Eaton and Kain Ulivi; one brother, Richard Farlese of Highland, NY; two nieces, Dana Farlese Saracione of Cape Coral, FL and Jaime Farlese of Fishkill, NY.
Jay is preceded in death by his mother.
Jay was a Springfield resident for over 40 years, retiring from the phone company after 38 years of service as a District Network operations manager. He was a United States Navy veteran serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1971. He loved his classic car and boat, being outdoors, spending as much time as possible with his grandkids and working on the house he built. He was a member of the Church of the Little Flower.
Memorial Gathering: 11 am – 12:30 pm, Friday, February 13, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.
Graveside Service: 1 pm, Friday, February 13, 2015 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Sangamon County Interveterans and US Navy will conduct military honors.
