James Francis Davis
James Francis Davis, 67, of Chatham, died at 3:18 am, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at his home. He was born June 6, 1948, in Springfield, to Billy Joe and Betty Jane Edwards Davis. He married Carol Ann Shaudis on November 4, 1972 and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Brian (Brenda) Davis and Chris Davis both of Springfield; two grandsons, Colin and Gavin Davis; one sister, Alta Davis of Dothan, Alabama; one brother Charlie Davis of Springfield; one sister-in-law, Margery Eilts of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
James was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Chatham. He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was an active volunteer for Clark Griffith Little League. He was a St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed watching his grandson’s sports activities.
He was a wholesale food broker and most recently worked for Arrowhead Sales and Marketing.
Visitation: 5-7 pm Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 12 noon, Friday, September 4, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where Sangamon County Inter Veterans Burial Detail and the US Air Force will conduct Military Honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Chatham Fire Department.
