Jacqueline A. Toomey
Jacqueline A. Toomey (Moe), 85, of Springfield, died at her home, with her family, at 1:15 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2013. She was born October 12, 1927, in Cobden, Illinois to Frank and Ethel Rita O’Brien Weidlocher. She married Thomas Noxon Toomey on September 4, 1926.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son Mark, and four sisters; Kay Crawford, Jane Fernandes, Marjorie Staten, and Rita Neposchlan.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kitsie (Paul) Moore and Stacie (Nicholas) Turner; her son, Thomas N. (Violet) Toomey of Groves, TX; three grandchildren, Ian Turner, Lauren Turner and Isaac Moore (Companion: Angie Wollesen and daughter, Jessica Hill); one great grandchild, Zeviq Moore; one sister-in-law, Johanna Toomey and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jacqueline was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was also involved in advocacy for persons with mental illness.
Visitation: 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Children’s Miracle Network-Team Lauren-Half Marathon, 800 East Carpenter, Springfield, IL 62769.
