Jacob E. Allbright
Jacob E. Albright, 93, of Springfield died at 7:00 am Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born September 28, 1921 in Mexico, MO to Lambert F. and Beatrice Leadabrand Albright. He married Josephine Ciotti July 20, 1957. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Mary Sexton, Margaret Ciotti and Martha Mehan and two brothers, Charles and Sam Albright.
Surviving are his wife, Josephine; a daughter, Dr. Deborah (William Dudleston) Albright of Sherman; granddaughter, Victoria Dudleston; two sisters Liz (Larry) Ryner and Gerri Dennison, both of Springfield; one brother, Ellis Albright of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Albright served in the United States Army during World War II. He began Charlie’s Standard Station and Cafe and then ran the Dynamite. He began Albright Home Builders, operated three car washes and a Laundromat. He then co-founded Legacy Audio.
He was a member of St. Aloysius Church and was also a member of the VFW Post 10302 and the Illinois Rifle Association. He formerly enjoyed riding horses, he enjoyed going for coffee, visiting with his friends and spending time with his family.
Visitation: 10 am – 12 noon Friday, October 31, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 12 noon Friday, October 31, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Christopher House officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
Memorials may be made to Land of Lincoln Honor Flight or Wounded Warriors.
