Iris A. Davis

Iris A. Davis, 76, of Springfield died at 9:07 am, Monday, June 27, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born December 7, 1934 in St. Elmo, IL the daughter of Elwood M. and Ida Mae Harner Durbin. She married Raymond Davis in 1958, he preceded her in death on April 8, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her sister Deloris Eggers. Iris is survived by her sister, Mary (Henry) Tipps of Springfield, and brother, William (Marie) Durbin of St. Elmo, IL, a sister-in-law, Iolene Ellis of Altamont, several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Davis was a member of Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church, and a former member of Business Women of America. She retired as an officer at Capitol Bank and formerly worked at Sangamon Schools Credit Union for several years. Iris enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation: 9-11 a.m., Wednesday June 29, 2011 at Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Wednesday June 29, 2011 at Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church, with Reverend Julia Melgreen officiating. Burial will be at Altamont Union Cemetery, Altamont, IL.
